Puzzle Description:

After seeing all of these cheerful, jolly pictures for Christmas, I thought I'd put one up for those of us who are unable to travel to see our loved ones this year and are spending the holiday on our own.

Alisa, I feel your loneliness. Do you have anyone you can reach out to? Sometimes when I'm in a similar situation, I visit a nursing home and sing some Christmas songs there. Then I am instantly surrounded by genuine love. Perhaps you could have a similar experience.

What a wonderful thought, Kathy.

Very sad but a good puzzle. I hope you have the best Christmas you can have under the circumstances.

Kathy, that's a beautiful thought, thank you! I used to go caroling with a group in an oncology ward and that was a truly heart-warming experience, getting to share music with others.

I'm fortunate that I have a couple of local friends who realized that I was stuck in town due to health reasons (just got out of the hospital because of severe MS-related vertigo) and invited me to their place, so I now have somewhere to go. Still, I've had "I'll Be Home For Christmas" in my head all day.

After ll/cl there is only black left.

edge logic on the 13 in r10 makes c1-2 white

two-way logic on the right 1 in r9 - whether it's in c17 or 18, it makes c17r11 black. Then LL.

two-way logic on the 2 in r10 - whether it extends into c22 or c24, r11r24 must be black. Then a little LL.

el4c2=r20-25w

el3c3=r22-23w

and here I seem to be stuck

Merry Christmas Alisa, only you can make it better.

I understand Alisa

I got a few squares past Joe by using 2-way logic on C2 to figure out the possible placements of the 3 in C3; that eliminated R17-18, R24, and R29-10 in C3. Beyond that, though, I too am stuck.

Found to require some guessing by infrapinklizzard.
