Cute puzzle. I'm still thinking about the solution.

P.S. This is not part of the series of two words from one.

#12: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Dec 21, 2013

#13: valerie o..travis (bigblue) on Dec 21, 2013

blowfish...i still like chokehold :D
#14: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Dec 21, 2013
I've never actually choked a fish, but I guess it's a possibility. :) At least you are in the right ball park now. The green sigh is a hint.
#15: chopsaw43 (chopsaw43) on Dec 21, 2013 [SPOILER]
fishhawk?

It doesn't meet the requirements but I like fisher price :)
#16: valerie o..travis (bigblue) on Dec 21, 2013

#18: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Dec 21, 2013
chopsaw43 is leaning in the right direction. This one I'm just playing around with a word and it doesn't follow the strict rules I followed for my two words from one.
#19: Karen Sakamoto (baddemo) on Dec 21, 2013
fishmonger?
#20: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Dec 21, 2013
fishbill?

buckbomb?

cashcow?
#21: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Dec 21, 2013
Right idea Karen, but need just two syllables.
Nice tries Aldege.
#22: Sean Wang (PianoMan) on Dec 22, 2013 [SPOILER]

#28: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Dec 27, 2013
where do you get fish in the desert?
#29: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Dec 27, 2013
You buy 'em.
#30: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Dec 30, 2013
I thought those were cats. Silly me. :)
#31: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Dec 30, 2013
To be truthful, to me they look like the bombs they tossed out of airplanes during World War One. I was hoping people would recognize the fish because it we turned them sideways and put them on a blue background everyone would say, oh yeah, fish. lol
#32: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Dec 30, 2013 [SPOILER]
I solved the one in his hand first, and it looked like he was holding a cat by the neck, so the other three looked like stylized cats as well. Maybe if you'd flipped those 3, or alternated up & down positions, to get "cat" (or cow, or buck) out of my head.

I was left thinking along the lines of, "there's more than one way to choke a cat for profit."
#33: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Dec 30, 2013
lol Kristen!
