Nice ladle. Save me some soup.#3: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Dec 19, 2013
split pea for me#4: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Dec 19, 2013 [HINT]
Edge logic on the 6 in c8 makes r1-13 white (because of all those 1s and 2s)#5: Web Paint-By-Number Robot (webpbn) on Dec 19, 2013
Then edge logic on the 4 in c2 makes r3-13 white for the same reason.
Then line logic to finish.
Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by infrapinklizzard.#6: Al LaPointe (kancamagus) on Dec 19, 2013

I happen to be making a double batch of Matzo ball soup right now.#12: Tom King (sgusa) on Jul 10, 2014
Fun one, Brian!#13: Andrew Schultz (blurglecruncheon) on Jan 5, 2024 [HINT]
I got C1-12 for R2 in Joe's solution. But R13, I couldn't quite pull the trigger for moderate lookahead. R12C1-R13-C2-C3-C4-C5 looks to work okay and while I eventually got a contradiction I didn't see one immediately.#14: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Jan 5, 2024 [HINT]
However R1-11 in C8 and then edge logic makes R18-20C20 dots, then C20R5-20 are dots by edge logic.
Edge logic knocks out C1R1-11, C2R1-12.
IEL gets R2C13-15 as dots. Then I picked off the 3's in C13, C14. C13 went to R10, C14 to R8. Then line logic.
Alternate solution there, why not.
I purposely placed the 8 in r19 on the wrong side and quickly got a contradiction. With that started on the correct side the rest of the puzzle solves easily. The 2, 1, 2, 1... pattern disallows the 4 in c2#15: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Jan 5, 2024 [HINT]
I did edge logic on the 3 in column 20, and then the rest of the puzzle flowed easily.#16: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Jan 5, 2024 [HINT]
My first hint uses EL for r1-2, and then extended EL for r13. However, it works the same if you forget the second bit and just make r1-12 white. LL will then take you to my second hint#17: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Jan 6, 2024 [HINT]
Valerie, EL on the 3 in c20 leaves two places: r2-5 and r14-16
Joe: That is correct, but at that point you can work the puzzle forward and eventually decide which place the 3 goes in. Even though it doesn't place the 3, it's the edge logic on the 3 that gets you to a point where line logic can complete the puzzle.
