Puzzle Description:

There's a picture of me in one of my mom's photo albums, taken some time after the accident. My eye is still very swollen and in various stages of bruise, and green stitches add to the garishness. I had also lost some of my baby teeth. Every time my mom comes across it she says, "You look so cute!". Only a mother would say that.

Excellent ***** !!!!! All the detail is great. The story really sells it. Very, very fun solve.

I have to say, this does win the prize over my worst school picture. You poor kid.

(I find myself wondering how you needed stitches on your eye! I hope you had a full recovery.) <-- I solved this out of order while solving puzzles in highest quality order.

Thanks for a fun, colorful puzzle, Linda. :-)

I'm overwhelmed. What a fantastic puzzle! Now that I know this is a photo album, I now know what the green lines are! And, of course, your mother would think you were cute.:)

Poor poor you! Excellent image but a very unpleasant one for you to remember. Thanks for sharing

Hi MrsThing2! thank you for the comment. I needed stitches because of a freak accident involving a wastecan, an easel and a nail...

Hi Norma - thank you my friend. I admit the photo album had an odd perspective :-)

Hi Susan - thank you for solving my puzzle!

Cool. While driving to the hospital,I decided to listen to some Chicago. Brought back great memories. What a great group they were. Too bad Terry Kath wasn't there throughout their careers.:)
#12: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Nov 25, 2013
well - i wiki'd him and then I had to listen to his guitar solo on 25 or 6 to 4. what a genius and what a loss!

and they had some KILLER horns!
#13: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Nov 25, 2013
Did they ever. Speaking of killer horns,on my trip to the hospital today,I decided to listen to The Best of Lighthouse. Talk about a great horn section, and the arrangements are incredible. I don't know if you listened to them yet Linda, but I encourage you to,and please let me know what you think. Also pick out the string section and Skip Prokop's drums. He was one of the greatest drummers ever,he was also the leader of the band and wrote most of their songs. Listening to them and Chicago yesterday, sent shivers down my spine, and I feel so grateful that I was able to experience playing their music. When I played, our brass section always stood right behind me on stage, and I can remember how great it was to hear them and feel the energy from the audience as they listened to them. I'm a lucky man.:)

all I can say is WOW
#15: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Nov 26, 2013
aldege - I wish I could have heard your band play. I love live music - there is nothing like it. it must have been some band to have a brass section, even. and you would have to have been a good band to take on chicago. some of their melodies were intricate. my brother karl switched between keyboards and trumpet, but we rarely had a horn.

@tom - thank you so much! :-)

oh my goodness! I just favorited (is that a word?) "one fine morning" by lighthouse. drummer doubles, TRIPLES up on the bass drum - how the hell did he do that while playing the rest of the drums? smh. it's hard not to draw comparisons between them and Chicago, but they also evoke a little of "America", another one of my favorite bands. and a few of their songs remind me of the band, "the fifth dimension", vocal-wise, especially "you girl" and "little kind words".
#17: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Nov 26, 2013
I agree, they do sound a bit like America on some songs. I figured you would like them. Can you imagine what it was like for me to see these guys live in a small venue like an old movie theatre. They were awesome. I enjoyed playing their music,as well as Chicago and Blood Sweat & Tears because their music was so involved and challenging. It was hard work to get it right, but once you practiced it to death and got it tight,it was so rewarding. The only thing as rewarding as playing in that band was when I played gut bucket bass in a jug band. That was a lot of fun.:)

I saw Lighthouse at the Grand Theatre in Kingston and it was truly amazing in that small space. I know exactly what Aldege is talking about. I also love Chicago's music
#19: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Nov 28, 2013
I saw them at the Capital Theatre in Hamilton. Great acoustics. I also saw Max Webster, and The Cult,as well as The Crash Test Dummies at Hamilton Place. All great concerts at a great venue. Are you a Max Webster fan Susan?:)
#20: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Nov 28, 2013
Embarrassed to say that I have not heard of Max Webster but I will google right now.

Great conversation from everyone, but back to the puzzle; which was great! I think my favorite part is the spiral rings. Thanks Linda for the wonderful story. And now, I will go listen to Lighthouse's "One Fine Morning."
