very well done! and fun to solve, as well :-) (cool eye). i'm starting to see particular styles of puzzle artists, for instance, I recognized the "norma dee" bird! love it.

Thanks, Jewel.

Is hookeye a word?:)
#12: JoDeen Mozena (ozymoe) on Nov 21, 2013 [SPOILER]
Enjoyed this, thanks Norma! There's another split word hiding in your picture...a medicinal plant!
#13: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Nov 21, 2013
Hook and eye is a sewing term.

Chances are, your bra (or a bra you've opened, if you're a dude) has a hook-and-eye closure.
#14: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 21, 2013
I know what a hook and eye is, but since I was making these puzzles by splitting our two words from one word I was being facetious by asking if there was such a thing as a hookeye (one word).
#15: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 21, 2013
Hmmm. You got me, JoDeen. But that wouldn't be hard since I know very little about medicinal plants. :) Maybe someone else can guess.
#16: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Nov 21, 2013
Of course. :)
#17: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Nov 21, 2013
the only medicinal plant I can see in the picture is "narrow dock". is that it, jodeen?
#18: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Nov 21, 2013
Is the bird British? It could be saying "Aloe!"
#19: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 21, 2013
Good one, Kristen.
#20: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Nov 23, 2013

#24: Bill Eisenmann (Bullet) on Dec 12, 2019
No such thing as a hook eye but there is an eye hook. And has Jodeen told us where the (aloe?) is hiding?
#25: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Dec 12, 2019 [SPOILER]
Maybe the fisherman has a wart, but his name is James, so s'aint John's wart.
#26: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Dec 12, 2019 [SPOILER]
Also, fishing takes a lot of "thyme"
#27: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Dec 12, 2019
