#3: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 15, 2013
Pardon me for feeling really dumb, but I can't think of what this is called, but it is two words derived from one word. :)
#4: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Nov 15, 2013 [SPOILER]
Hot cross bum? (Oh, that's 3 syllables)

Wino?
#5: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 15, 2013
We had a lot of hot cross bums in Phoenix this past summer.
#6: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Nov 15, 2013 [SPOILER]
drunker

loser
stinker
#7: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 15, 2013
Two separate words derived by splitting one word of two syllables.
#8: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Nov 15, 2013
excellent image but I am stumped!
#9: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Nov 15, 2013
is it crosspatch?
#10: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 15, 2013
If it were, which it's not, the answer would be cross patch. Two words. And a puzzle of that might be a patch that is angry.
#11: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 15, 2013
Kristen was kind of close.
#12: Joel Lynn (furface1) on Nov 15, 2013 [SPOILER]
crossfire?
#13: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Nov 15, 2013
Well I am stumped too but great image
#14: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 15, 2013 [SPOILER]
Thanks Joel and Susan.

I feel really, really bad because I just threw this out there without making it clear what was expected in an answer. The word I started with was bumbling. I split it and made a picture of a bum wearing bling. Or bum bling. Sorry about that, folks.
#15: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Nov 15, 2013
it's so obvious once you said it! and the image is even funnier with the description. still a clever puzzle.
#16: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 15, 2013
Thank you Linda. You're very kind. :)
#17: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Nov 15, 2013
well, now that we know how to play, you should make more! I do think it's a fun idea. gets the old brains working (i'm speaking for mine, of course ;-) )
#18: Alison P Deem (Indigo1) on Nov 16, 2013 [SPOILER]
I thought it had something to do with "holy." And I thought he was holding a gun or weapon of some kind! I was way off.
#19: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Nov 16, 2013 [SPOILER]
That's hilarious, and I would never have come up with it! I got sidetracked by the fact that he was wearing a cross. :)
#20: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Nov 16, 2013
I believe the word you were looking for in #3 is portmanteau?
#21: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Nov 16, 2013
I get it now and I agree that you should make more of these!
#22: Linda Young (youngl) on Nov 16, 2013
I was definitely on the wrong track--bottle, cross, drunk, had to read the comments to get it. Great fun anyway.
#23: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Nov 16, 2013 [SPOILER]
While a portmanteau is a word that has been created out of two words while keeping the meaning of both words, this one is more of a chimera.

I had never heard of crosspatch, so I had to look it up. It would certainly be in the running for an answer to this as there are both a cross and patches in the picture. And anyone in this condition has reason to be a crosspatch (or grouch as I now know). This one could be a portmanteau.
#24: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 16, 2013
Wow! Thanks for all the comments, everybody!
#25: JoDeen Mozena (ozymoe) on Nov 18, 2013 [SPOILER]
I had to peek to find the answer. Lol...I don't associate a cross with "bling"...still great fun!
#26: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 19, 2013
Thank you JoDeen.
There seems to be quite a collection
