Linda, I see you went to a "progressive" school. Female teachers and students were not allowed to wear pants in my school district until 1971. I was a sophomore in high school. Even then we female students had to wear, not jeans, but "coordinated pantsuits" made of hideous polyester. (The boys could wear jeans).
