thanks, aldege - they have never done that in Colorado springs, that I know of. but water is hard to come by here in a landlocked state.

Wonderful. A really, really happy kid. Love it! With very little rain fall here in AZ we opted for the sprinkler. But the town I came from was in a kind of mountainous area and the water came from deep springs, so was ice cold. We didn't last long.

Very cute! I love the detail in your puzzles! :)

thanks norma and ellen for the comments! norma - the coldest water I have ever been in is the platte river, which hugs the mountain range from Colorado springs up into Denver. I put one toe in and was like "yee-ow!!!"

Wow! Very happy child and an awesome puzzle. We too used to do this when we were little. The fire department would not be happy when they came and as an adult I can understand but boy did we have fun.

The face was the last part of the puzzle I finished. I was waiting the whole time just to see the expression! Great job again, Linda. In a smaller city near to where I live, the fire department will actually turn on the hydrants for the kids now on the hottest days of summer. It is fun to see the excitement it brings.

thank you, kim! I really appreciate your comments. are you going to make puzzles again? I enjoyed solving yours, too.

This looks like so much fun! I've only seen it done in books and on TV (Sesame Street, most likely). Like Aldege, we made do with sprinklers and rain puddles.

hi Kristen - it was a regular thing in those days. but never where I live in Colorado - too many water restrictions. the water came out full force and puddled in the street. there was no public pool nearby so I guess this was the next best thing! thank you so much for the comment! :-)
