"Come Sail Away" by Styx.

Groan. So obvious when you know what it is. Nice puzzle.
#3: annalivia (annalivia) on Sep 29, 2013
I thought it was 'you're my cup of seawater' by the 'loving demitasse'

either that or ' how'd you like to spend Christmas on Christmas Island' by Jimmy Buffet.

;-)

very nice one!
#4: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Sep 29, 2013 [SPOILER]
Am I the only one thinking "I'm On A Boat" by The Lonely Island?
#5: Thomas Genuine (Genuine) on Sep 29, 2013
Rod Stewart - I'm sailing ?
#6: John Macdonald (perlwolf) on Sep 30, 2013 [SPOILER]
Before I got the middle filled in, I was expecting "House of the Rising Sun", although there you get a choice of artists (the original Creedence Clearwater Revival, Janis Joplin, Linda Ronstad, ...)

If the markings in the middle had looked more like wounds, it could have been "Bad Moon Arising".
#7: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Sep 30, 2013
I was thinking pirate ship through a telescope.
#8: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Sep 30, 2013
I thought of Styx. I'm right there with you, Al!
#9: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Sep 30, 2013
Thx everyone for your comments. John,I believe Eric Burden and The Animals did House of the Rising Sun,and CCR did Bad Moon Arising. Both are great old bands.:)
#10: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Sep 30, 2013 [SPOILER]
love Styx!

then again, there's also "Sailing", by Christopher Cross that could work. the song that immediately came to mind though was the Sloop John B. nice puzz, Al!
#11: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Sep 30, 2013
Thx Kurt.:)
#12: John Macdonald (perlwolf) on Sep 30, 2013
Yep Aldege, as soon as you said the Animals, I knew you were right. I'd thought of googling to check my facts before I posted, but I'm so smart I couldn't possibly have misremembered anything, right? (Better to remain quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.)
#13: annalivia (annalivia) on Sep 30, 2013
then there is crosby, stills, nash: Southern Cross. an awesome song.

tho' I do love Styx.

LOL,John don't be so hard on yourself,I've made myself look like a fool many times here,I think David and Kristen have caught me on some movie stuff that I was sure I knew what I was talking about. They just laughed along with me,that's what friends do.:)
#15: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Oct 12, 2013
i thought of "sailing" by Christopher cross. I didn't think of styx - who I love! excellent image - love the reflecting water.
#16: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 13, 2013
Thx Linda,I love Styx too,I saw them in Buffalo N.Y. when I was in my thirties. They were great.:)
#17: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 13, 2013
Sorry Annalivia,I skipped responding to your comment. Talk about a great band. Crosby,Stills,Nash and Young were fabulous and what great harmonies.:)
#18: Yonah Kondor (yokon965) on Aug 30, 2023 [SPOILER]
It's not a sailboat, but I still want to give honorable mention to The Downeaster 'Alexa', Billy Joel.
#19: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Sep 4, 2023
Great song Yonah!
