Two mittens hung over a pot handle don't dangle in the water. (It's a very idiomatic phrase.)

Maybe "hang up one's gloves".

Kittens who don't wear their mittens will get burnt?

I love all the other ideas! I may start using them as sayings around here.

Amazing how something becomes so obvious once you know what it is. :)
#10: annalivia (annalivia) on Sep 23, 2013
isn't that the truth! some of you all's puzzles I've done, it's 'how could I not have seen that?'
#11: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Sep 23, 2013
The guessing is often more fun, anyway. :)

I've noticed that while I'm creating a puzzle, it always looks perfectly clear and straightforward. Then if I look at it after a few months have gone by, it doesn't look as obvious.

How true, how true, Kristen. I've looked back at some and asked myself what was I thinking?
#13: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Dec 13, 2017
Don't get it.
#14: JoDeen Mozena (ozymoe) on Dec 9, 2022 [SPOILER]
In case you ever come back and look, BlackCat, that is a pot handle in the picture (the black) with green/red kid's mittens (gloves)draped over it...ergo, this is a "handle with kid gloves." Lol...clever, yes?
