Puzzle Description:

Fractals are patterns that repeat themselves over and over again. This is the basic "tree" fractal, in which a pair of smaller branches appear at each bigger one, and protrude at the same angle.

Different forms of this fractal can be made, as in the branches can extend at 45° angles or 30° angles. Smaller angles do look cooler, but unfortunately it is a bit difficult to make them with an orthogonal grid.

Fractals are fascinating. Mind boggling at times, but still fascinating. I read a while back that they were researching fractals created by heart rhythms to use as a diagnostic tool, but haven't seen anything recently.

Interesting FORMAL experiments of PBN puzzles:
When you see that ALL numbers are uneven: it means a regular labirynth...
When you see that numbers are in pyramid form: it means a spiral figure.
:)
Another interesting fact: Theoretical fractals were used in the proof of the famous Fermat thesis!

My favorite fractal is Romanesco broccoli:

that's too cool, Kristen! I've been a fractal fan from way back, but never seen anything like this. How could anyone manage to quit staring at it long enough to ingest it!

nice one, Joseph!

Does anyone know of the Mandlebrot? It looks like three inkblots smudged into each other. I can never get my head around how it works. Too many Thetas.

Yep, my family has been re-watching Babylon 5, and the Minbari appear to have blue Mandelbrot sets on their heads.

I thought this was the Sweet 16 bracket ;-)
