It's not a book title, but the closest I can think of is "They call the wind Mariah" from Paint Your Wagon, since Mariah Carey was named after that song, and she sings. :)

nope none of those fit, tho' it was interesting to find that Green Mansions was published in 1904. maybe that's not the publishing date of the novel I'm looking for. :-)

I thought you might get a kick out of the fact that I studied this picture and gave up trying to figure out the answer remarking to myself, "the only scene this remotely reminds me of is from the Odyssey...and that was written long before 1904."

Kristen, Ulysses. James Joyce. it takes place entirely on that date and was published in 1922.

I saw that, after I looked up the full date. :)
I have to admit, I haven't yet read Ulysses..

I've not a clue as to what this novel title is supposed to be, Annalivia, but i enjoyed doing the puzzle....so, thx!
