You would have wanted a carpenter with big feet, so you would get more wood per foot. Same with cloth sellers; they measured a yard from nose to fingertip, so you'd want one with long arms.

A cubit, in case you don't know, is the distance from elbow to fingertip. And for all you barefoot solvers, your foot fits exactly against the inside of your forearm, from elbow to wrist.

That's my useless trivia for the day. :)

Yeah, you'd be shorted a little if I were a carpenter, my foot is only 11-5/8" long. Guess I'd probably be wearing shoes though...so that makes me a bargain!

One more bit of trivia: The human feet contain 1/4 of all of our bones.
