el on the 5 in r19, and line/color logic takes you the rest of the way home on the black....then I saw the blue 4's with the 1-1's in the r's/c's as a smile to place all of those. it worked, ofc.... but what's your take on it Joe? is one allowed to do that, or do you have a different way?

That's how I solved Kurt!

I started on R14 and worked my way from there. Your way probably takes less time to solve. I'll have to try it.

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by gator.

Line/color logic will get all of the black with only a little blue left. I used the following to finish with line logic in between.

Next I did internal edge logic with the 4 clue in row 4. If placed all the way to the left, this will cause row 5 to be invalid. So R4C7 is a dot.

No matter where the 1 clue in column 13 goes, this always causes R3C12 to be a dot.

However you place the 1 clue in column 7, R2C8 will always be blue.

No matter where the 1 clue in column 8 is placed, R5C9 will be a dot. After the line logic, the top section is now solved.

The left and right sections are solved in exactly the same way as they are just rotated 90 degrees left or right from the way the top clues are oriented.

Nice puzzle.

I, too did edge logic on the 4 in r4 to dot c7.

But then I differed.
The bottom 1 in c8 can only go in r4 or 5. Either way, c9r5 is white.

Then LL finishes that section.

The same for each of the two side sections (rotated).

I really enjoyed this puzzle. I did wind up guessing in order to finish.

This was trickier than I thought it would be. Fun one!
