Puzzle Description:

This actually was my first series titled " Winter Fun",but I missed it while looking back thru my puzzle list. Crashing into a tree while tobaganing was always fun. Toque and boot lost in the aftermath. This may need some guessing, but I left it this way hoping for a toughie for D Bouldin's b-day.

very nice so far, Al! Lovin' the challenge!

alllllmost got it, just a little bit of red to sort out yet. I can tell you that all of the black, blue, and green are definitely solvable with logic alone. and so is the red in the boot.... takes lots of color logic, quite a bit of el also....

ok, sorted it out....no guessing!

to get the last bit, r14c13 cannot be a red. just that dot enables the solve, but I'd have to categorize it as "deep". Hard for me to tell what constitutes a "step", but I think it's 3 to get it. "moderate" is 1 or 2....there might be an easier way to solve that I didn't see though. might I suggest adding a red pixel or 2 in the sled?

it's a fantastic solve Al! great image also!

Here's how I did it:

After I got tired of searching for color logic (with most of the action in the bottom right corner, but some of the blue pixels as well:

Edge logic on the blue 5 in c25 rules out r7+ or the bottom blue 1 in c24 would not have room. Then Line Logic / Color Logic finishes the blue off.

Extended two-way logic on the red 3 in c20 makes c19r13 red. (If it goes up into r13, then the 6 extends through c19; if it goes down into r16, then it fixes the red 2 in c19, forcing the red 1 to be in r13.) Then LL/CL finishes the red and green.

Edge logic on the 3 in c9 makes r5 white or there'd be a conflict in c8. Then a little LL.

Extended two-way on the 1 in c7 makes c6r2 black. (If in r1, then it extends into c6 - whose 2 clue then makes c6r2 black; if in r2 then it extends through c6.) Then LL finishes the upper left.

Edge logic then can place the entire 7 in c4. (If it went anywhere but r14-20 there would be an immediate conflict in r3.)

Then LL to finish.

Once I read the story I could clearly see the illustration. I did guess 3 times.

Solved logically but definitely tough.
