Puzzle Description:

is called "tiger's eye"....not a grrreat image(as Tony the Tiger would say), but I just had to put Joe to work with his new-found duties ;) Have fun explaining this one! lol

Drat, I'm not the only one making tiger faces. ;)

I completely forgot about the title as I was solving. At first I though of lapis lazuli, and then I just got caught up in finishing the kitty face.

this didnt require any advanced logic...it was pretty easy.

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by gator.

After the initial line/color logic, I used edge logic with the 5 clue in row 4 on the right. It cannot go in columns 26-30 without making row 5 invalid. So R4C26-R4C30 are dots. Continuing the edge logic with the 5 clue in row 4, you can also make R4C11-12 and R4C20-23 dots. Line logic.

Edge logic with the 6 clue in column 30 makes R6C30-R8C30 dots. Lots of line logic.

Edge logic with the 4 clue in row 25 makes R25C1-2 dots.

Next consider the 2 4 clues in column 1. If we try to place the 4 clue starting at R1C13 or R1C12, then column 2 would be invalid. There is only one combination left if the 4 clue is to go in the upper part of column 1 (2 clue at R5C1-R6C1 and 4 clue at R8C1-R11C1). Looking two moves ahead, this will make column 2 invalid as it produces three 2 clues in a series. This tells us that the 4 clue must go into the lower part of column 1 (and hence R18C1 is black).

If the 4 clue in column 1 extends down to row 20, column 2 will be invalid so it must go up making R16C1 black. Line logic to finish.

Very fun puzzle!

Looks good to me, too! I can see it either as is or reversed.
