naw, it's an overall crap image and it's a stretch to make sense of it....a guy pitching a ball, mid wind-up. but he/it has wings. A California Angel pitcher. I had an idea a while back and it didn't work out, but I never deleted the puzzle. this puzzle isn't about the image, but rather the ability to solve it. I'm glad you took the time and did solve, J! ummmmm, it was Star Wars Day? May the 4th be with you! Naw, not sure. But I've noticed as well. Hard to believe that he'd just disappear....my guess is that someone got snippy with him or vise versa and he's laying low for the time being. possibly using a diff id to solve and keeping quiet. who knows? or maybe he's busy or just taking time off. anything is just a guess til he comes back and tells us himself.
