paw bone's connected to the....arm bone!(off screen) technically, you made a paw, not an arm...but I'm not one to bother with the details ;)

Nicely said and nicely done!
#7: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Apr 16, 2013
Entertaining. Thank you.
#8: John Macdonald (perlwolf) on Apr 16, 2013 [SPOILER]
At first I thought it was a Paramecium with bullet holes in it. Very small calibre arms required for that.
#9: Leigh Cousins (pog) on Apr 17, 2013
Do innocent children have the right to be shot dead? In a democratic sense you understand...?
#10: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Apr 17, 2013
funny entry, thanks Sarah

@9: Leigh, I can't speak for Sarah (or anyone else) but I've got to believe no sane person, whether a gun owner or not, accepts the killing of innocent children as a regrettable consequence of Second Amendment rights.

While WebPBN is apolitical, touchy subjects occasionally crop up. Although I've only been hanging around here since last fall, I've seen discussions sometimes develop into mild debates but they never seem to evolve past that. The users of WebPBN are incredibly diverse - geographically, culturally, socially and, yes, politically - and yet those of us who frequent this site are quite close because of our uniqueness. Even when we disagree on specifics, we respect each other's perspective. Whether or not I agree with your feeling about the "right to bear arms", I respect it.

To my mind, democracy itself doesn't determine whether we have a right to own guns, have guaranteed healthcare, provide amnesty to non-citizens, or any of the other many issues we debate. Democracy can't affect the outcome of deliberation, only the process to which it's resolved. A democratic system insures each member of its community one vote having no more or less value than any other member's vote. I would agree that our democratic process has become corrupted, but I would disagree that it's no longer viable. I wonder if we've forgotten that the constitutional rights provided to Americans come with a tremendous amount of responsibility attached to each of them. I wish we were as quick to consider and accept our constitutional responsibilities as we are to claim our constitutional rights.

Leigh, if you'd like know my thoughts on Second Amendment rights please feel free to email me at khp164@hotmail.com. I would be interested in knowing more about your perspective.

Oh, and Kurt - I LOVE those bear claws too!
#13: Jota (jota) on Apr 17, 2013
Good point Dave!
#14: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Apr 17, 2013
Very thought provoking, Dave. People keep talking about gun control, but how do we manage bomb control?
#15: Dave Oas (khpdave) on Apr 17, 2013
No fair thinking with your head, Norma.
#16: Sarah Belsan (haras89) on Apr 17, 2013
I'm sorry, I know this is probably going to open a whole can of worms but, do innocent children have the right to be killed before they're even given the chance to live?
#17: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Apr 17, 2013
Well, you are certainly right about the can of worms part.
#18: Dave Oas (khpdave) on Apr 17, 2013
I guess we'll see who takes the bait.
#19: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Apr 17, 2013
Karl, maybe?
#20: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Apr 17, 2013
I think you are right, Adam, since he seems to be underwater so much of the time.
#21: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Apr 18, 2013
I only have tears to share in this conversation!
#22: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Apr 19, 2013
I think the bigger can of worms here is the amount of jokes that can be made about a state trooper liking bear claws. :)
#23: Dave Oas (khpdave) on Apr 19, 2013
You HAD to go there, didn't you Kristen?
#24: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Apr 19, 2013
hahahaha!
#25: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Apr 28, 2013
Congrats on runner-up Sarah.:)
#26: Dave Oas (Khpdave) on Apr 28, 2013
Yes! Congratulations Sarah!
#27: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Apr 28, 2013
yeah, congrats!

Thank you!
