If the clues are symmetrical (either vertically, horizontally, or even both), the image will be symmetrical, no? And isn't studying the clues part of the solve? Hence logical?

Bill, the clues can be symmetrical without the solution being symmetrical. An easy example is a chessboard. All clues in both columns and rows will be 1 1 1 1. Completely symmetrical. But the solution is not. And, in fact, there's no way to logically solve that puzzle...
