I was a professor of computer science at Texas A&M university. I did not get tenure so after seven years I headed back to Michigan. It was all very interesting from my point of view, but maybe not so much so from anyone elses.#16: Michael Ahr (mahr) on Aug 9, 2007
Wonderful puzzle! I'm from Michigan, too, originally: Midland... grew up in Maryland, though.#17: Arduinna (arduinna) on Jan 14, 2008
I got accepted at T A&M for my PhD, but I decided to go to OU (Oklahoma) instead. I decided driving all day to see my husband on the weekends wasn't worth it!#18: Ariel Drissman (rel322) on May 12, 2008 [SPOILER]

Bryce Canyon has been removed from the itinerary."
~Ebenezer
(My previous comment is a quote from an Ebenezer Bryce, the old Mormon rancher who owned the Bryce canyon before it became a natural park. It was his response when asked his opinion of the place. I've always thought it summed up the place pretty well.)#25: Jane Doe (telly) on Jun 29, 2008 [SPOILER]

Love the Michigan puzzle, Jan! I'm near Findlay, Ohio now- but my family is all from Traverse City, and I'd be there too in a heartbeat if I could find a job up north. To me, Ann Arbor means driving past Domino HQ and seeing their awesome Christmas light display!#32: Ray Star (RazorStar) on Oct 17, 2010
It's swishigan.#33: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Jul 13, 2012

Susan, your comment was a tipping point for me. I've been solving these puzzles and reading the comments for about ten years, but have just now registered and entered the world that Jan created for us. It warmed my heart to learn that there's a bench dedicated to him in Ann Arbor. I wish I had known about it on my first visit there a few years ago.
