I'm addressing the users of the site to find out if you think this contest is no longer of interest to you. We had wished to promote a good level of puzzles in this site and to interest all participants into creating GOOD puzzles for the site.#2: Merili (merilinnuke) on Feb 1, 2010
Lately, the participation has been very low which can either mean you are not interested or you cannot create good puzzles. Which one is it?
The second one (for me)#3: Byrdie (byrdie) on Feb 1, 2010
Not tired of the contest at all. I always do new puzzles for the contest first. However, I've been preoccupied lately and coming up with a worthy idea hasn't been a priority.#4: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 6, 2010
I'd like to see the contest continue but can't promise my level of participation will increase.
There are plenty of us who like to see/solve the puzzles that OTHERS create for the WCP, but we don't like to create them ourselves.#5: Kai-Uwe Zickerick (conzick) on Mar 18, 2010
Dont stop it!#6: Josh Greifer (joshgreifer) on Apr 9, 2010
Not a contest-entering kind of guy myself, but if it stimulates good puzzles I'm all for it#7: Ron Jacobson (shmily999) on Oct 11, 2010
Keep 'em coming.#8: Gator (Gator) on Oct 11, 2010
I have a question, though. I have submitted a couple puzzles to the WCP, but I do not see my name on the scoreboard. I know I ma not winning anything, but some people have a '0' after their name. Does a person have to submit a certain number of puzzles to be recognized on the scoreboard? Thanks. (Yes, this could be seen as a little egotistical. Not trying to be, just trying to understand.)
It could be from Honorable Mentions perhaps which do not score any points, but they are listed in the Honors.#9: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Oct 11, 2010
the 0 point is mention when some puzzle are in the honor but for special reason, First place get 10 pts, second place get 5 pts third place get 3 pts any other puzzle that is special enougth to be mention are put in with the reason why but we have to enter a certain amont of point for the system that why you get 0 point in those case#10: Ron Jacobson (shmily999) on Jan 31, 2011
Ah, thank you for the clarification. I'll kepp working at it.#11: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Feb 18, 2011
Personally, I have an easier time creating puzzles when I have a theme to work with. I certainly don't envy Sylvain's job of coming up with new themes, but it provides a springboard for my creative juices. Plus, I thrive on competition. :) Most of the puzzles I've created have sprung from other people's ideas, that I thought I could improve upon, or at least give a different point of view.
