Sorry.

Did you notice the rating idiot(s) have gone the other direction and over rated my puzzle? It's just not right and it's disrespectful. Maybe they shouldn't be allowed to use this site. I'm going to lower the ratings on this puzzle so they won't look so out of proportion.
#3: Tom King (sgusa) on Jan 4, 2013
I see it has been rated 3 times. I thought it was very high quality for the size, and gave it a 4. I thought it was a 2 in difficulty. I guess I am a rating idiot, sorry Norma. The other rater must have given it 4/4. I go by 3 is average in quality (which is what this site says). Your puzzle is above average in quality...

Rain Man
#5: Mitch Nelson (holy_mn) on Jan 4, 2013
My first thought was Gilligan's Island Meets Planet of the Apes. Skipper is walking with his 'little buddy' and then the apes are hanging in the tree. Unfortunately those apes never got stranded on that island so they never got to make a movie.

The ratings idiot struck right after I posted it, and I noticed they did the same to you. There were no other solves on either puzzle and showed only one rater so it was clearly the village idiot. I went right away to the Users to see who had logged on in that time frame as they didn't seem to be there earlier. Since they are on the site a lot I figured they would have quite a few puzzles done. There seemed to be 3 or 4 that would fit that category.

You are NOT the rating idiot.

And thank you very much for the 4. But, I'm sorry to say Rain Man is not correct. Neither is Gilligan's Island and the Apes.:)

This is terrible. Someone is misusing this wonderful, friendly site. Keep checking, Norma. See if you can narrow it down. The game's afoot, as Sherlock would say. I enjoyed this puzzle, as I enjoy all of your puzzles.
#8: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jan 4, 2013
It will be interesting if you can find out who the idiot is Norma, but will you be able to reveal to us who it is?
#9: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jan 4, 2013
Thanks, Jennifer. I'll Keep an eye out.

Nice solve Thanks Norma!
#12: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jan 4, 2013
Clue: animated movie.

So. the idiot is a she, Jota?
#13: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jan 5, 2013
Was the "Ho the idiot is" a mispell Jota,or an intentional play on words. Either one...pretty funny, lol. Can you or do you wish to reveal?
#14: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Jan 5, 2013
It's only a guess as to whom J means, as I don't know.... but I think this is better left unsaid. (remembering comments about imps and whatnot in the past) the atmosphere and sense of community is pretty good at the moment, let's not mess with it.....

coming from me, the guy who repeatedly inserts foot into mouth.... lol :)
#15: Jota (jota) on Jan 5, 2013
Don't even go there my friends ... I'm just having fun and being Jota!
#16: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Jan 5, 2013
Do you mean being "HO"ta???
LOL
I had to do it, based on the joke that Aldege just made.
#17: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Jan 5, 2013

Okay, according to Jan, there are several persons using multiple IDs to abuse the rating system. I'd rather not refer to them as "idiots" because I think that term is insulting to individuals who have IQs lower than normal. Let's call it what it is: Abuser of the Rating System, or "ARS" for short. :-)

When Jan discovers an ARS, he disables their rating ability. But that doesn't keep the ARS from creating a new false identify to keep on being an ARS. In the long run, the System wins and the ARS's ratings don't really matter.

Every time we draw attention to the bad behavior of the ARS's, we feed their thrill of being mischievous. Now I am also guilty of this. Oh well.

BTW, I know the identify of one of the ARS's. If I were the vengeful type, I'd say who. But I'm not, so I won't. :-)

Back to the puzzle... Norma, I one of those characters named "Oscar"?
#21: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jan 6, 2013
No, but one of them is furry.

I kind of felt letting them get away with it was a bit like letting kids cheat in school. But then decided to ignore them because they are not worthy of our attention.
#22: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jan 6, 2013
ARS Short for arshole?
#23: Teresa K (fasstar) on Jan 6, 2013 [SPOILER]
Only one is furry? Darn. I thought is was a big chimp, a little chimp (Oscar) and a couple of tree monkeys.

Jungle Book...
#29: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jan 7, 2013
Very good Tom, you nailed it.
#30: Tom King (sgusa) on Jan 7, 2013
Kristen nailed it...

I was thinking your realm of movies, Norma, and you like the old ones. Of Mice and Men made sense to me. Jungle Book is in your wheelhouse. loved that movie when I was a kid. Baloo and Mowgli.
#32: Tom King (sgusa) on Jan 8, 2013
Hmmm, thinking of another series... Just So stories by Kipling. Either that or EA Poe but that could be gruesome and some might complain...
#33: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jan 8, 2013
When renting movies became affordable it opened up a whole new world for me and it was so much fun exploring that world. Then Netflix made it even easier. I don't remember where I got a copy of Jungle Book, but it was a favorite. All the voices were so perfect. Voices in animations since then have been good but not as good until Shrek.
#34: Jan Wolter (jan) on Nov 11, 2013
Looking into the complaints about weird ratings here, I discovered a user who has solved thousands of puzzles over many years, and who has rated nearly all of the ones they solved, giving them all exactly the same quality and difficulty rating. Apparently all puzzles seem pretty much alike to this person. I guess there's nothing wrong with that. People are way more mysterious than most anyone imagines.
#35: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 11, 2013
Or he thinks it's a big joke.
