Puzzle Description:

I don't know what a Crimson Tide looks like or why they have an elephant as a mascot.

cool, Tom! didn't see it til the very end... fun lil puzzle! red was easy to place, but the black makes ya think a bit. I liked it

Thanks, Kurt!

Go Alabama!
#4: BlackCat. (blackcat.) on Dec 1, 2012
Very odd. Yet another unclear puzzle for both the title and the image.

Sorry, BC. Gotta be a college football fan...

Ditto #4. Not a college football fan, I'm afraid.

I think you'll find the first and last meanings the most descriptive, if the least helpful: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimson_Tide

I'm not a college football fan, but I DID grow up in Birmingham. When I first moved there at age 9, the question I got asked the most was "Are you for Auburn or Alabama?" (I went with Bama, because I liked their colors better.) And when I was a senior, my guidance counselor asked, "So, do you want to go to Auburn, or Alabama?" Yeesh.

Still like Clemson

Tough solve. Plus I really had to squint hard to see the elephant.

I'm sad that the college football season is winding down. Unfortunately, my Hokies didn't do so well this year.

Initial line & color logic gets to 70% with only black remaining.

C3: Whichever way the black 2 goes, R15C4 is white. LL.
C4: EL places the 3 in R5-7. LL.

R7: The second 3 must go in either C8-10 or in C11-13. If it goes in C8-10, it makes C8 invalid in 2 steps. Therefore it goes in C11-13 instead.

LL to finish.

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by wombatilim.
#12: Andrew Schultz (blurglecruncheon) on Jan 17, 2024 [HINT] [SPOILER]
Seeing this just after Nick Saban retired hits a bit differently now.

Alternate solution: R11C13 being black makes a contradiction in R12. Then line/color logic.

This didn't come up in the wikipedia page so it may've been edited. But for future reference...

The elephant is because of the offensive line being called "red elephants" ... https://ftw.usatoday.com/2023/10/alabama-football-mascot-elephant-history
