shot in the dark is indeed an ozzie song, but that was just a gun reference. there is a song title in the hint, but you latched onto the wrong one and the wrong part

My first guess was to ask if there had been a band called Revolver?#7: Aldege Cholette (Aldege) on Dec 1, 2012 [SPOILER]
Looking at Wikipedia tells me I was right but that it existed 1990-4, which means it wasn't an 80's band.
Fabulous gun Kurt.:)#8: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Dec 1, 2012 [SPOILER]
there's a velvet revolver also, craig. came later though...#9: Jac (jaxlemon) on Dec 2, 2012 [SPOILER]

I thought about doing GnR, but that'd be way to easy to guess...but then again, a good image and fun solve makes for a good puzzle. may be worth doing even if it is obvious...
Nicely designed puzzle, Kurt.#12: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Dec 4, 2012
thanks, Teresa!#13: Jota (jota) on Dec 30, 2012 [SPOILER]
Awesome 38!#14: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Dec 30, 2012

I thought Saphir, with the song "Shot in the dark." Even with one really bad line concerning a vegetable it's very catchy.
