Good to pass on this information. Every little thing helps.

I've heard such things....

but what I've heard more of, with more evidence to support, is just plain cleaner living. detoxing.... we eat junk. even the things we think are healthy are grown with crappy synthetic fertilizers that have little nutritional benefit. genetically-altered fruits and veggies that would never survive in nature if man didn't coddle them, all for size of fruit. not for quality or even taste. metals we're exposed to and even ingest. hell, I do it too. but I have heard so so much about paying more attention and the affects of cancer in particular. even the increase of remission of those with cancer who actually start to detox. great subject, Tom! so good of you to educate

Thanks, Norma. True, Kurt. However, this seems a pretty simple way to decrease the overall risk of cancer by 8%. I am not going to forgo everything that I know is bad for me. Skiing was "bad" for me in that I broke my leg. Driving is the most dangerous thing there is. However I have plenty I could give up to keep me from dying a natural death (rather than an accident). Puzzling is actually good for mental health (although a huge time suck).

I bought in on this study.

It's amazing to go to a Farmer's Market and smell the apples! They smell so wonderful, without all the wax and pesticides to make them look good.
#9: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 19, 2012
Haven't been to a really good farmer's market in years. All the decent farm land around Phoenix was bought up by developers who rubber stamped a bunch of cracker boxes on the property, crowded in next to each other.

There probably aren't too many apple trees in AZ, either
#11: Teresa K (fasstar) on Nov 19, 2012
Actually, we have a famous apple orchard down here near Tucson, in Wilcox, AZ: Apple Annie's Orchard.

At one time AZ produced over 90 million pounds, but thanks to foreign investors who bought up a lot of orchards and did not take care of them the production dropped to 17 million pounds.

Gee,I take a multi-vitamin everyday, and I eat fruit everyday. Does this mean I have a good chance of living long. I'm not sure I want to. I'd like to see Destyny make it to College, but I wouldn't mind if she skipped a few grades.:)
#14: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Nov 19, 2012
Live long and prosper my friend, Aldege
#15: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Nov 19, 2012

Lol Norma.
#18: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Nov 19, 2012
skip skip skip, Destyny! less years to pay for....

but I hear ya, Al. I'm sure you think of the future more than you'd like, and your position in it. let time unravel as it will. Destyny has only one Dad, and I'm sure she'll cherish every memory. even if your worries are sound, you still worry too much. just live. (or maybe I'm wrong...if so, pls disregard my long-winded comments)
#19: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Nov 21, 2012
Thx Sensie buddy.:)

I guess i'm living a long time then Norma,lol.:)

No your not wrong Kurt my friend,a lot of people tell me to stop worrying and just enjoy my time with Destyny, and I do,but it's hard not to think of my leaving her early at my age and how unfair that will be for her. I just try to stay healthy so I can stick around. Watching golf helps, lol.:)
