Puzzle Description:

I brought the Diplomat to my mechanic Ralph to see if he had a used tail light bezel in his parts bin,only to find a biker looking dude with a hat on backwards working under a car on the hoist." Excuse me,but where's Ralph?"..He's off sick today.." Oh,and who are you?"..Pretend you know me Noir.." So what's the deal Neil,who's following you and why?"..I'm not sure,either my wife has hired a P.I. to see if I'm cheating on her,or the chief is checking to see if I'm on the take..." Are you?"..Nada on both,but my wife has always been the suspicious type,and the chief has to make it look like he's on top of things. I want you to follow,whoever is following me,and find out why.." No problem,I'll start tonight. Now can you fix my car?"..It's already done,Ralph has been working on it while we were talking. Your retainer is in the glovebox.." I'm impressed"

Neat puzzle. Neat story line. Like the car up on the hoist.

I sure hope the wife hasn't been cheating with the chief.

I can withhold my comments if they are spoiling your planned surprise - I'm sure I can come up with total non sequitors that are certainly not the story line you planned (well, almost certainly, lol). Maybe Neil's wife is smuggling drugs, hidden in Neil's taillight and Ralph was supposed to pick them up and hand them to the chief - who has allergies and can't afford the official prescription and needs to get them from an online pharmacy.

We couldn't be. Aldege is just a youngster - there would have to be some time travel involved for us to be twins.
