Puzzle Description:

...turkey, that is. In bowling, three strikes in a row is called a turkey. And it's bad luck to fill in the score until after the streak (or the game) ends.

Being an avid bowler,i love this puzzle. However,I was not aware of the bad luck part about adding your score. The closest I ever got to a perfect game was 9 strikes in a row,and then i left a 6-10 baby split in the 10th frame. I finished with a 276 score.:)

Great thinking, Joel! Funny how this went from pre-school art to alternative uses of Turkey.

I didn't know that.
I did know, from Atari bowling, not to fill in the score until the strikes were complete :)

Glad you guys enjoyed it. Aldege, I threw in the bit about not adding the score to explain why there were no scores in the frames. But the bad luck thing was really followed by the bowlers in the Washington DC area. I think that even in the Wii bowling game, it doesn't fill in the score when you have a string going.

Aldege, there is no such thing as a 6-10 split, baby or otherwise. :-)
Nice 276, though. I guess you must have had a 8 / 8 in the 10th.

It's not just a DC superstition--I've bowled in Ohio, PA and Indiana and they don't add up there either!

Cool puzzle, Joel Lynn.

Aldege, that must have been exciting.
