Ahhh, the other side of 50. Not sure whether to say "It's all downhill from here" or "It's all uphill from here." Neither one sounds very positive. Planning on spending this half the century defining the word "eccentric" and embarrassing my children.

at home i'm the oldest and I'm gonna be 30 on the 30th and my kids and my wife call me "old man" just to bug me so I'm returning the teasing on older poeple than me...sorry it nothing personal I just need someone to hit hard...:)

your still a young one to us, so anytime they make you feel old...you just come back to us..we'll keep you young

I married a man 11 years my senior and my children are only 13 years younger than I am, so I more easily slot into the "older" crowd than I do folks my own age, generally. I'm the only person I graduated high school with that has a grandchild... a lot of them are just now starting their families! :D

But I enjoy picking on my hubby about being older. I find it quite amusing to remind him that when he was graduating high school, I was graduating kindergarten. ;)

I'll be 49 when my third kid is born this spring. Having kids so late kind of automatically sticks me with the role of a much younger person, so it kind of makes me young, but the thought that I'll be 70 when this kid is 21 makes old age seem awfully close too.

well Jan, your right behind me, though I don't think I would want to be raising a teenager in my sixties (ouch)..so that make you old minus 1. ;)

Thank you Debra for the public service. Maybe if you could introduce your puzzles as curriculum our young would be better educated geographically. I'm defining "eccentric" myself but never thought of embarrassing my children. Thanks for the idea! I'll be 52 in February (finally playing with a full deck?), so I too am either sliding down that hill or struggling to reach the top.

Sylvain, now that your over 30, you can't be trusted. ;p Be kind to the old people, you're rapidly becoming one. :)

But oh, Oh, OH!!!! Jan! Congratulations!!! This is wonderful and exciting news! My best wishes to you, your partner and 2 adorable kids. Having kids at any age makes you young (and very tired for a few years). I'm so happy for you. :D
