As I entered Carl's,I noticed an elderly couple sitting in a booth. That seemed odd to me considering how early in the morning it was,but i dismissed it and sat down on a bar stool... Hey Guy,your up early,what can i get you?..Gee Carl,the sardines in tobasco with onions worked out real good last time i was here,so how about that on rye bread this time? You do have rye bread right?.. Sure do Guy...Great,and i'll have some orange juice with that... No can do guy,i'm out of orange juice...Oh boy,here we go again. How bout apple juice?..Nope..Fruit juice?..Uh,uh.. Tomato juice?..Sorry guy..Coffee,surely you have coffee,right Carl?..That i can do Guy.. Ok then,the sandwich with a black coffee... Sorry guy,i'm out of onions...What!,c-mon Carl,what restaurant runs out of onions?.. Gee Guy,since you had the sardines and onions last week,i put it on the menu and it's been my best seller. Oh,i'm out of sardines too... Your killing me Carl,just bring me the coffee then please... I have some corn beef,you want corn beef on rye?..What at this time of the morning,your kidding me right? Oh heck,why not,i'm hungry...Comin right up Guy...AND BRING A PICKLE...SORRY GUY.

Poor Guy. (Hmmm. This must be where that expression came from.) Corn beef on rye in the morning? Can't be too bad. No worse that sardines and onions. Like how you made Carl with his chef's hat. Another good one.

Thx Travis,but i don't think i have the right stuff for that. I have to admit though that i'm having fun coming up with ideas,it's challenging.:)

As for capers, Aldege, I've only had them a few times, and I don't know that they added anything special to the dish.

Somethings need capers like smoked salmon!
