Story of my life. :) Good one.

Twenty years ago my son attended the gifted program at Merivale High School. We got him this card for his birthday and performed a little creative alteration with a Sharpie pen.

Norma, I always used to say very quietly that my son, gifted or not, was the reason they needed to invent the term "space cadet." He is still absent-minded and quite forgetful, but now that he has a Ph.D. (in biomedical engineering, no less) I can say it out loud. Fortunately he has always had a great sense of humour, which I think means above all that we can laugh at ourselves.

Being able to laugh at ourselves is so very important. And congratulations on having such a gifted son.(His mom ain't too shabby.)
