Fun puzzle, Tom!

I remember black balls, Aldège. They started off black but had coloured layers that were revealed as we sucked, so we would take them wet and sticky out of our mouths to see what colour they were.

I must have forgotten to click on post. Anyway, good puzzle. Cute commercial. But how about the cream?

Here is a short version of comment 7:

Al/Lollipop, don't forget that as you took the balls out to check their colour, people could see that the inside of your mouth, and your tongue were coated in black. If you took it out too soon, your fingers and everything they touched got black, too.

Yeah Lollipop and John,that's what was so much fun about blackballs,that and the fact that you got 5 for a penny.:)

Oh, 5 for a penny! Ours were 3 for a penny, which was not quite the cheapest candy going - the little white chewy mints were 4 for a penny.
