Thx Travis and Kurt,i didn't check the outside temperature, but when i went out to hang some laundry this morning,it felt nice and cool. Perfect for working outside with a sweatshirt or hoodie on. We don't have a fireplace, but i intend to put one in some day. We have a furnace that burns wood or oil,but we probably won't use oil. We have a large pile of wood that the previous owner left for us,and the weather is perfect to go chop some, see ya later guys. I'm gonna go play with my wood, lol.:)

I had a bit of trouble with the wood grain on one of the logs. had to erase it and take another stab. Worked it out.

Today's high in Fresno CA...102. Not exactly a chill in the air.

Fresno is in the middle of a hugh valley 65 miles wide and 250 miles long. When people burn wood here the smoke has nowhere to go. We haven't had a fire in our fireplace in 15 years.

My sister-in-law and her husband live a quarter mile away from us, they burn wood for much of their heat. They actually bought 30 acres of forest adjoining their original property so they could use the wood for heat. They have to tend that wood stove a lot. We have propane forced air heat. I'm happy we don't have to deal with stoking a fire all the time. We had 2 wood fireplaces in our old house in Virginia, used zero to 3 times a year. I hated leaving the embers unattended when I went upstairs to bed, and having to leave the flue open until the fire was completely out, thus letting the heat from the gas furnace go up the chimney.

I like your birch wood, Aldege.
