A 1950 Ford Custom Ragtop sits parked next to an apple tree, seeking protection from the rain. The owner put a racoons tail on the rear antenna. Anyone remember those days.

It has always bothered me that i couldn't make a green car, because i used green for chrome. I decided to use white for chrome and try green as the body colour. I hope it looks ok. I also wanted to see just how many blots could be used, while still keeping the puzzle solvable by logic alone. Quite a few in this one. I hope it isn't too hard and frustrating for you solvers.:)
#2: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Sep 14, 2012
Ack!! Too many blots! I'll try to revisit this one later.
#3: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Sep 14, 2012
Sorry Kristen.:(
#4: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Sep 14, 2012
I'm with Kristen. I'll try again when my eyes are not burning. Something in the air.......
#5: Jota (jota) on Sep 14, 2012
I will keep trying my friend, so far I've placed almost all the reds ...
#6: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Sep 14, 2012
Norma,i hope it's not due to my puzzle.:)

Jota,i figured it would be a toughie,Niki has only solved one other blot puzzle before, she's still working on it too,but she says she has a lot of it done.:)
#7: Jota (jota) on Sep 14, 2012
Nikki HELP!
#8: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Sep 15, 2012 [SPOILER]
showing off your tail, huh ;/
#9: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Sep 15, 2012
Lol,yup.:)
#10: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Sep 15, 2012
holy crap, Al! I haven't even started it yet...saw a million blots and had to check out the comments. well, here goes...
#11: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Sep 15, 2012
damn it, Al! I'm revoking your blot privileges...
#12: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Sep 15, 2012
great image, Al!

(it better be after 4 hrs, 45 mins)lol
#13: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Sep 16, 2012
Rofl Kurt. I promise i won't make another blot like this one. I just wanted to experiment with the idea of seeing how many blots I could get in this puzzle, and still keep it solvable. Glad you liked the image. My wife Niki has spent at least 4 hrs on it so far and hasn't finished yet.:)
#14: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Sep 16, 2012 [HINT] [SPOILER]
still takes forever....but Jota's got the right idea. I worked the left edge and top for a bit(and surprisingly, you can almost completely fill the apple tree with careful attention), but you gotta start placing colors. red....then black. you can fill in the grill, and it's helpful to place the blues in the headlights(since there are only a couple blues in no man's land from the other blue). and keep working and paying attention to little things as your eyes start to burn...... maybe that lil bit will help Niki. tell her to get her tasty beverage of choice and some snackies ready and strap in for the long haul. lol

I saw all those blots and said, "No way!" I like a good challenge, but this looks a little too frustrating. Sorry, Aldege.
#16: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Sep 17, 2012
No i'm sorry Teresa,I was hoping it would be a good challenge without the frustration. Funny thing is it's solvable, and now i see it's only rated at a 3.25 for difficulty.:)
#17: Jota (jota) on Sep 18, 2012
I don't think this is Very Hard ***** but EXTREMELY hard it deserves **********
#18: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Sep 18, 2012
Lol Thx Jota,i think:)
#19: Vaggelis Kamaris (evag7651) on Dec 10, 2016
At least solved. very hard, bur solvable without guessing.
#20: Maida Corby (sweetmaida) on Mar 16, 2017
Very VERY hard, but logically solvable. Great challenge!!
#21: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Feb 21, 2018
Started, but really this many blots make it totally unfun.
#22: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Jun 26, 2018
Tried again. Got a little further but again it is just not fun.
#23: derby (Derby) on Oct 4, 2018
Very very hard. I started over numerous times and I still am stuck on the sky. I believe it is solveable, but not by me! One of the toughest puzzles on the site I think. Awesome work, Aldege.
Thanks
#24: Velma Warren (Shiro) on Dec 1, 2018 [SPOILER]
Well, I finished it with an extraordinary number of guesses. I see the wheels. the apple tree and maybe the ragtop, but the rest is just too obscure. Can't find the racoon tail at all.
#25: derby (Derby) on Mar 5, 2020 [HINT] [SPOILER]
Wow, After 2 years of this puzzle sitting in my unsolved folder, I finally took another stab at it and did get it. For me, the breakthrough was seeing the blue headlights in the middle of green. I also make some assumptions on the grille that worked out. Very, very difficult, but also most satisfying,
#26: Eric (kelalatir) on Oct 23, 2021 [HINT]
Wow, this puzzle is amazingly difficult! It never lets up! While it may be solvable with line and color logic, there were sections I could only solve with moderate lookahead color logic, where I had to eliminate possible locations for some colors by checking crosswise for contradictions that didn't show up immediately.

This took me weeks. Some days I wouldn't place more than 5 pixels.
#27: Koreen (mom24plus) on Sep 1, 2022
Wow this was hard, *almost* tedious because you're placing one pixel at a time, but the challenge was fun. I like the image, as well.
#28: derby (Derby) on Oct 8, 2022 [HINT] [SPOILER]
Did it again, just for laughs and searching for difficult puzzles. This certainly qualifies. I do think it is logically solveable, but so difficult to spot the bits of colour logic you need. I think i ended up solving it the same way as I did before. Started with the red, then black, then green and blue. As before, the breakthrough came with the blue headlights In the sea of green. This is an amazing puzzle. And an excellent image.
#29: Mike Helwig (mhelwig) on Sep 4, 2023
Hardest one yet. Very fun though.
#30: LoloJean (LoloJean) on Sep 29, 2023
I think this is gonna be one I pick at for a while. I'm enjoying the process!
#31: LoloJean (LoloJean) on Oct 7, 2023
I keep picking at this one. Every time I'm SURE there's nothing more to do with line or color logic, I put it down and come back in a few days and find something I missed. Very satisfying, if slow solve.
