Those were sooo high tech and the guys used to carry them around on their shoulders.

I remember when i bought my first cd player. It was a portable one that you hooked up to a stereo. I bought a good boombox to hook it up to,so that i would have a nice portable system. The salesman at the store,put the boombox on my shoulder and said,"it's perfect",lol.:)

I remember, but rather my mp3 player now

I still have my old boom box out in the garage. I dare not try to put a cassette in it though. I listen to NPR on it.

I still have mine as well but I don't carry it around anymore. Another good puzzle

I called them either a LugMan or a CanBarelyWalkMan

I was on a bus, when it stalled. A dude in the back seat had the BIGGEST "ghetto-blaster" I'd ever seen. It was about three feet across, with 10" woofers. An old man one row ahead of him said "Hey, why don't you get out there and jump start the bus with that thing?"

I had a smaller one (maybe 1.5 feet wide), but you could take the speakers off and separate or angle them, like bookshelf speakers. It had two cassette decks, so you could copy a tape at double speed. and a BASS BOOST button :)

Meh, it's just a single cassette deck. How am I going to create mix tapes of my faves on that?
