Puzzle Description:

You got a crisp new brown paper lunch bag. Momma had to write Johnboy's initials on it in pencil,so no one would take his lunch by accident.

I so remember those days of having to write my name on my brown paper lunch bag. You always hoped that nothing got squished, and leaked thru the bag, cause mom wanted to use the same bag for at least a week. The joys of growing up in a large, poor family.lol.

But still a warm memory, isn't it! Thanks Al. I found this one extremely difficult.
#3: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Sep 8, 2012
Thx Jota, yes still a good memory. Really.i used every blot possible, while still keeping it solvable by logic alone. Otherwise it was just too easy. I hope it was still fun.:)

cool entry, Al, you tying to win? lol
#5: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Sep 8, 2012
Thx Tom,no not really,i just got this Johnboy Walton thing in my head, and seeing how they have to be 20x B&W's,i thought it might be the perfect time to give all the 20xB&W lovers as much as possible.:)
#6: Gator (gator) on Sep 10, 2012 [HINT]
I thought the hard part was finding that R11C9 had to be a dot no matter how row 11 was filled in. Also, make sure not to miss the dot at R8C5.

Awesome puzzle!

Thx Gator.:)

You accomplished your mission, Aldege. I found this a really really tough one. If I hadn't seen Gator's hint I think I would still be working on it.

Thx Nancy,i always struggle with the difficulty level of a solve and getting them solvable by logic alone. Some solvers like them tough but solvable, others don't mind and even seek out the ? mark ones, and then there are solvers like me who can only do the easy ones. You can't always please everyone all the time, and i admit that lately i've been trying to cater to those who enjoy a tough challenge. That's where the blots(which originally i was not a fan of) have really helped in making easy puzzles, more challenging. Many times I get selfish, and my only quest is to make a puzzle that i think has a good image,or caters to my sense of humour.lol.:)

In Gator's comment....what does R11C9 R8C5 mean?
#11: Jota (jota) on Aug 23, 2013
Row 11 Column 9, Row 8 Column 5.

Not too bright, am I?? lol

really tough. solved after some reverts in C15.

I started, but there are too many blocked out numbers for me.

I did complete using trail and error. Very satisfying puzzle.

Extremely difficult. I did wind up guessing a few times just out of frustration.
#17: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on May 11, 2021 [HINT]
Same as Gator! If those two blacks in C7-8R11 are the blob, then they would have to be a blobbed 2 clue. if they aren't the blob then they are the non-blobbed 2 clue, so that dot in C9R11 happens either way. Fun solve!

Always love Aldege's stories
