Well, there's Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman, but I can't find any reference to a book. Maybe it's Attack of the 50 foot Cheerleader?
#11: Tom King (sgusa) on Sep 11, 2012 [SPOILER]
The book is a reference book...
#12: Jota (jota) on Sep 12, 2012
I have NO idea!
#13: Teresa K (fasstar) on Sep 12, 2012 [SPOILER]
The image made me think of one of my favorite books made into movies - The Martian Child by David Gerrold. I highly recommend it. He's one of my favorite authors, but this book (fiction genre) is not anything like his other books and is based on his true life adventure of adopting a cute but unique little boy. Really a joyous, quick read.
#14: Teresa K (fasstar) on Sep 12, 2012 [SPOILER]
Okay, I think I got it.

At first I thought a reference book could be Maps (Atlas) or Medicine. Then the M of A made me think of Mastering the Art of... I thought and thought, and then the image of the two females (one is short, one is tall) made me think of Julia Childs. So the book would have to be Mastering the Art of French Cooking! And the movie, of course, is Julia.
#15: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Sep 12, 2012
I haven't read that, but I *have* read Stranger in a Strange Land (R.A. Heinlein), about the orphaned child of astronauts who is raised on Mars by Martians.

Edit: this comment refer to comment #13, not #14 :)
#16: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Sep 12, 2012 [SPOILER]
I think you're right! The movie is Julie & Julia, but Teresa deserves complete credit. :)
#17: Jota (jota) on Sep 12, 2012
That's so out there!
#18: Tom King (sgusa) on Sep 12, 2012
