Puzzle Description:

This is the school that Johnboy attended,or is it his daddy's barn? He may have learned more about life in the barn, than at school.

It looks more like a school to me, somehow. I thought at first it might be a wood shed, but then Johnboy was kind of a goodie two shoes.

Aldege, you earn an A for the solve alone. Terrific fun!
#4: Tom King (sgusa) on Sep 4, 2012
Lookd like a Mission Church. Tough LLS solve, thanks, Aldege.
#5: Deana L (ffswife) on Sep 4, 2012 [SPOILER]
not many fireplaces in barns. fire and hay don't mix well.

Norma,i think grandma gave Johnboy a whoopin in the woodshed, even if he didn't deserve it. She was kind of ornery.lol.:)

Thx Travis.:)

Thx David, but i'm a bit confused. It only has a rating of 1.75 for difficulty, but does that mean it was still a good solve?:)
#9: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Sep 5, 2012
Thx Tom,i guess i have the same question for you that i asked David in comment #8,you say it is a tough LLS,so is it just that first low rater person messing with stuff(i couldn't care less about the ratings mind you),or does the rating not have anything to do with it being a good,or challenging solve? I'm just curious.:)

Good point Deana,so i guess it must be the school house, which is what i intended it to be. I just wanted to bring to attention that the Walton kids probably learned more about life from living on a farm, and from their parents and grand parents, then they learned from school.:)

thx for entry, Al

it wasn't a hard solve, it just had very nice progression. it was pretty straight forward, but not SO easy that you feel like your mouse-clicks can't keep up with the squares you know. it moves you around the board nicely. this is also partly because the large number clues sit just far enough away from the edges that you can use their proximity to the edge in the logic, but not ON the edge so the solve auto-grows too quickly from one or two spots. also, there are just enough 1's in some of the rows that you find yourself counting them for some of the shorter clued rows, but never needing to count/factor those long strings of 1's in R11 and R12. it wasn't hard, it was fun...and bonus for LLS. hope that helps.

Thx David, yes that helps a lot. Even though i'm not much of a solver,i can understand what you mean.:)

I loved solving this one, thanks Al.

Aldege, you know it is a bane of mine when challenging puzzles are rated 1. As LLS, I gave it a 3. There is nothing you can do about the idiot that comes along and rates a 1. In my experience, you will probably end up just under 2 stars with this puzzle.
#16: Joel Lynn (furface1) on Sep 5, 2012 [SPOILER]
Aldege, I gave it a 3 for difficulty, I couldn't find a move a couple of times, so I used the helper. I'm just happy to get 20x20's to solve!

And...I think it's a nice picture. I've been to the schoolhouse that Earl Hamner, the creator of The Waltons, attended in Schuyler, VA. It now houses the Walton's Mountain Museum (www.waltonmuseum.org). They have a lot of memorabilia from the show on display.

Thx Tom,I don't normally care about the ratings, but when i read yours and Davids comment,it sort of made me scratch my bald head.:)

Thx Joel, very cool,i would love to go there sometime to see the school house.:)
