Puzzle Description:

Probably the most incredible sight on the whole trip, was the view of the Cabot Trail in the Cape Breton National Park. It's like being in a fairy tale movie. While driving it's hard to keep your eyes on the road, and it makes you feel woozy. The road is very winding and dangerous,so you must watch your speed and concentrate. Niki couldn't drive this stretch cause the view was freaking her out. Luckily there are lookouts throughout the trail, and many opportunities to take in the incredible view.

Sounds like a beautiful place. I must try to see it sometime. Thank you for sharing your travels.

Another beautiful puzzle. Are there hiking trails? Or too rugged and steep?

Thx kjh,i highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.:)

Thx Norma, according to the pamphlet i got at the information centre, there are hiking trails, but we didn't do any hiking this time.I imagine the trails would be for serious hikers, possibly not suitable for kids. We only had a few days to explore because Niki's daughter Tessa had to go back home,so we tried to get as many sights in as possible for her. The Cabot Trail is 185 miles long, and it takes 8 hrs to do the loop properly.:)

Did you see any moose, bears, or bobcats while you were there? Norma: There are a bunch of trails, some easy and some very hard. Some long and some short. You would have to get a hiking guide to figure out which ones are suitable to you. My husband and I have been there, but didn't stay longer than a day. I would love to camp in the Highlands some day. Thanks for the puzzle Aldege, brings back memories.

Thx Ellen,Tom,Travis,Jota, and Susan. No Ellen, unfortunately we didn't. People tell us we will see, deer, moose and bears right in our own yard, but we haven't seen any of them. When we drive to the grocery store,we see deer and fox and bald eagles a lot. We did see some whales in Nova Scotia and that was real cool, and we thought we saw a pelican, but apparently they're not ocean mammals(i didn't know that, lol),so maybe it was a stork?,i don't know, but it was cool.lol.:)

Al if others have seen them, perhaps you saw one ...

Kristen, the first time i drove the Cabot Trail, many years ago, there were no guardrails at certain sections of the road and it was raining and slippery. They had park rangers and other workers guiding people past those areas at a very slow speed. That was real scary,i thought we were going to slide right off the road, down into the ocean.:)

That brings back memories - I haven't driven around Cape Breton for many years. The Bra d'Or lakes are also beautiful - that's where Alexander Graham Bell tested out his hydroplanes.
