Yes...that's kind of a bug.

The maximum number of clue numbers in a black and white puzzle is half the size the puzzle, and that's the size the clue areas in the editor are drawn.

When I added multicolor to the site, the maximum number of clues got larger - it's now equal to the size of the puzzle. But drawing it that way looks really bad, and is rarely needed.

But now with blots, it is much more important than it used to be that you can see all the clue numbers while editing.

So probably the size of the clue area should grow as needed, which is going to require quite a lot more programming. Maybe someday.

It's a kludge, and I haven't tried it myself, but you might be able to make the puzzle like this, then after you're done editing and testing, move it up to the upper left-hand corner and crop the puzzle.

I think that would unblot the clues. I'm going to have to work on the edit screen.

I actually like the white space around the edge of a small puzzle like this, like a frame.

Wonderful solve, Gator, it really tickled my brain. Great idea for an image too.

There's now a partial fix for thing with not all clue numbers being displayed. It won't dynamically enlarge the clue area, but if you save the puzzle and then re-enter the editor, the clue number area will have been enlarged enough to allow all numbers to fit.
