I don't get the title, Tom. What am I missing?

Lollipop.... there has been a controversity about Chick-fi-la about their company's ceo saying that he disapproved of "same sex marriages". Many mayors and other politicians of America put him (the ceo) down and somewhat treated Chick-fi-la's future business success. Thousands of people throughout america came out on Wednesday and bought meals there. The largest business day for them in their history. It was soooo refreshing to see the grass roots of america speak out. On friday the other people had a KISS-IN (same sex kissing) at there locations but wasn't nearly as successful with their movement. So I made a puzzle to honour Chick-Fi-lay. :)

Oh, I understand now. My own grass-roots belief is that, on the principle that all people are or should be equal, the choice to marry or not should be extended to everyone. I am proud that marriage between any two people is a legislated federal right in Canada.

lol JD...also you & lollipop have misunderstood. The grass roots movement wasn't about who could get married. It was "freedom of speach" that was under attack by some of those in elected positions.

That accounted for a small percentage of the turnout. The rest were churchgoing folks who are anti-gay marriage and wanted to show their support for Dan Cathy.

Perhaps in your area, most folks were there to support first amendment rights; here in the Bible Belt, it was all about fear of the gays.

I was thinking like Norma Dee, that it would be controversial among Matt the Kat's friends.

All of the reporting I have heard was reporting the lineups of people supporting Chicken-Fil-A claimed (or simply assumed) that they were showing their approval of suppressing gay marriage.

Forcing other people to arrange their private lives to match your religious convictions is intolerant meddling as far as I am concerned (and that applies equally to *any* religion - Christian, Muslim, whatever). It far worse when it gets the force of law behind that intolerance. Trying to illegalize the rights of others to live their lives in their own way is not a matter of free speech. Free speech gives you to right to try to convince others to accept your point of view; forcing people to live according to your point of view, regardless of their own point of view is not free speech but rather a denial of free speech.

Each person has a right to his own oppinion

Opinion...sure. But you don't have the right to infringe upon another person's civil rights.

It is just like freedom of speech vs hate speech.

The truly ridiculous thing about the anti marriage freedom side is that marriage freedom doesn't hurt anyone. Why are some people so opposed to it? It makes no sense.
