We have had drought conditions in and near Ottawa with brush fires in the area, but we had a big thunderstorm a few nights ago when I was out. Traffic was snarled all over the city during rush hour because power was out and traffic lights were off. There was a lightning strike close to my house that blew out a few light bulbs and fried my alarm system, phone system, garage door opener, and a television. Now it's back to drought.
