...that sounds like a challenge... time to start working on that fear of big boards with lots of small numbers. ;)
#2: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jul 15, 2012
All the scrolling will be the biggest challenge firefly.:)
#3: Claudia (clau_bolson) on Jul 15, 2012
I couldn't open it, my browser froze!
#4: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jul 15, 2012
Stop putting your browser in the freezer Claudia, lol.:)
#5: Petra Lassen (Stjarna) on Jul 15, 2012
I wish I had a bigger screen at home, the one I have a work would have covered most of it. :/
#6: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jul 15, 2012
Stunning!(I just peeked)
#7: Claudia (clau_bolson) on Jul 15, 2012
LOL Aldege. I don't know how to say it right when some program stops dead and you have to restart it. Here we say that it "hanged itself" (se colgó).
#8: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Jul 15, 2012

#9: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Jul 15, 2012

Thx everyone,i think it's a cool flag,i want to get one.

I have a 22" screen on my computer Petra, and i can use my 40" T.V. as a monitor as well. Can you hook yours up to a bigger screen?

Thx Norma.:)

I knew what you meant Claudia, that happens to me sometimes.:)

I'd hate to be one of the people manning one of the oars. Only four oars (per side) for a boat that size?? I'm sure that even a member of the Olympic eight-man rowing team would shudder at the thought of propelling this boat.)
#12: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jul 16, 2012
Yes but John there's 2 men/oar on this boat.

double post
#16: John Macdonald (perlwolf) on Jul 16, 2012
But Al, on Roman or Phoenician boats, there were 4 (or more) slaves per oar and there were oars the full length of the boat. Of course, I'd hate to be manning an oar on one of those boats, too - slavery doesn't really have a lot of appeal.
#17: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jul 17, 2012
Well what you can't see John is that this boat has been retrofitted with mechanical/electronic oar assist devices, which make paddling a breeze, also the sail is permanently up,as the captain(Emporer Aldège no doubt) is a serious blowhard and the ship is never without wind power. Keep in mind also John that this ship is neither a Roman or Phoenician boat, but rather more than likely a French Canadian(which i am)made boat. I'm surprised it's not adorned with little frogs on it for identification. I don't know John, the flag only shows 4 oars,i'll have to speak to my MP(member of parliament)about this glaring mistake and see if the flag can be made more realistic.ROFL.:)

Surely your MPP would be a better choice for complaining. Provinces tend to get a bit touchy about the federal govt sticking their nose into provincial matters otherwise I could complain to my MP too (Marc Garneau), but of course a Quebec Liberal MP has even less influence on the N.B. flag than a N.B. MP would. When the captain is blowing hard, make sure he faces the back of the ship to get forward momentum out of the blowing. (I am assuming that you have some influence over Emporer Aldege - is this a black sheep uncle, a family member that made good?)
#19: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jul 18, 2012
He is the black sheep, and he never made good at any point of his life, and i have no influence on myself, lol.:)
#20: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jul 20, 2012
John,i watched a show on T.V.last night that showed an ancient ship,it must of had 50 oars on each side, and about 5 men to each oar. That amount of manpower, could propel the ship to 9 knots, which was the speed necessary to ram the enemies ship, and sink them. Interesting stuff.:)
#21: Petra Lassen (Stjarna) on Jul 21, 2012
Not at home Aldege, but back at work I can. But I have several weeks of vacation left still. :)
#22: Bryan (Cyclone) on Dec 17, 2013
ROFL, the printout for this one prints a blank grid. The length of both sets of clues tells me this will be a very frustrating solve. =)
#23: Karen D Stivers (kds17) on May 11, 2018
This solves just takes patience and determination (and lots and lots of scrolling on a laptop). Thanks, Aldege!
#24: Ronda Polack (bowsocks) on Jun 17, 2018
I am glad I stuck to it. had many screen freezes. but saved often and scrolled a lot. and am so pleased with the results. Thank you.
#25: Raymond Fuller (rfuller4) on Apr 14, 2020
Amazing! Well worth the time spent on solving it!
#26: Julio Parra (Julio Parra) on Jan 24, 2022
Pues yo si lo he completado, y la imagen me ha gustado. Una lástima que Aldege ya no responda aquí a los que hemos resuelto el mayor puzzle de esta página. Debería hacerlo periódicamente.

Claudia @ #3, here I am more than 12 years after you were, and I've just finished the solve. So worth it! This puzzle and other enormous ones like it have been waiting in my partly solved list for many years, because I had the same problem you did, namely they wouldn't load, or if they did, they'd freeze. But after being on the site all these years it was Kerri Kemp's comment @ #4 in puzzle 22189 that set me on the right path. Couldn't have done it without Kerri! I resolved it a little differently, though. To be able to load a huge puzzle in the first place, I first load a solved puzzle, click on the Options button, uncheck the box for automatic error checking, and also click on Save As Default For All Puzzles at the bottom of the option list, then exit out of that puzzle. Then my big puzzle will load, no problem. I've also learned that after it has loaded, I can tick the box for automatic error checking, which is so helpful for counting while doing puzzles of this size, and for some reason the puzzle usually doesn't freeze. I click on Set For This Session Only so the puzzle will live to load again.
