Yeah, it doesn't look like much to me, and it's very nearly unsolvable.#3: Robert Kummerfeldt (rmkummerfeldt) on Dec 3, 2007 [HINT] [SPOILER]

Ah the black and white turned my eyes inside out. I see him now.#5: Alysa Lundberg (aalundberg) on Dec 10, 2007
Thanks for the details Robert...it's obvious now.#6: Yulia (yug) on Dec 17, 2007 [HINT] [SPOILER]

Wow - the picture jumped right out at me! Loved it - very challenging, but satisfying.#8: Web Paint-By-Number Robot (webpbn) on Jun 29, 2009
Found to require some guessing by jan.#9: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Dec 9, 2011
First off, terrific image, especially for this size grid.#10: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Dec 9, 2011 [HINT]
I'm going to go ahead and post the process that I used to do what might be considered solving this with logic alone. I'll let some higher webpbn authority decide if the more complicated bits of logic require too much look-ahead. Please bear with me, it's a long explanation and you may want to stretch your comment window a little wider than normal.

Found to be solvable with deep lookahead by jan.#12: karl (keicher) on Jun 30, 2013
deep lookahead is just guessing. stop pretending its something its not.#13: Vaggelis Kamaris (evag7651) on Aug 16, 2013
solved -after some reverts.#14: Joel Lynn (furface1) on Oct 17, 2013
nice picture - especially for me as i have born in Crete.
Too hard, even with David's lengthy hint. Actually the length of the hint makes you wonder...#15: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Oct 18, 2013
A few more black cells around the edge would have made the solve less tedious.
makes you wonder what JL? :)#17: AM (adrian) on Apr 26, 2014
Nice!#18: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Jun 13, 2017
I don't see it. Had to guess to finish the puzzle.#19: Aurelian Ginkgo (AurelianGinkgo) on Jan 9, 2018
I think the big fellow is quite easy to see, but yes, definitely too hard to solve. He looks accurate enough for the size of the picture, but he was a beast to put together.#20: RB (rb2013) on Jul 11, 2018 [HINT]

Very difficult puzzle. Had to guess 3 times. Am having a hard time seeing the image; and what is a minotaur anyway?#22: BlackCat (BlackCat) on May 25, 2020
This puzzle seems to come up almost every other day or so.#23: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on May 26, 2020
There are very few puzzles that qualify as "brain-busting"#24: Byrdie (byrdie) on May 26, 2020
Funny - the two of my puzzles that make it onto the featured puzzles list are both listed as "Brain busting." They are difficult puzzles to solve but I think the designation might turn some away from trying them.#25: Cupcakey (Cupcakey) on Dec 25, 2024
I admit to them having given my trouble solving them but as I become more experienced at solving it's fun to go back and retry them and other more difficult puzzles to see if they're as challenging as they once were.
Always fun to solve a brain-buster of a reasonable size. Took some deep lookahead and elimination, but I got there in the end without guessing. Thank you for a great puzzle!
