Max, a large percentage of new creators make Mario-themed puzzles. It makes sense, because he is made of large pixels and easy to recreate.
I suggest you start solving puzzles. Try a random search of small (up to 20x20) puzzles and you'll soon see lots and lots of Marios and flags and hearts and flowers.
