Absolutely beautiful puzzle. I must admit rather than overtaxing my brain I took a chance and made a lucky guess and everything started falling into place.

very cool, very tough solve! challenging....I love it! and to finish and find good image and some personal history is outstanding! thank you


damn it, now I need to find out my own crest, as I've forgotten. my dad would kick my butt if he still lived.... I remember part of it, and the plumage, but not all. he took pride in it, and even had a suit of armor made that he displayed in his living room. bad Kurto for forgetting!

I got about 2/3 through and couldn't find a way to logically finish it, even with trial and error. So I peeked at the solution to place the 10 in C2 and was able to work it out. I did not rate the solvability, but I think it's a very nice image.

A very nice B&W for its size. It was a good solve- I miss your puzzles and was glad to see it!

Fantastic image and puzzle, David. I enjoyed the logic challenge. No guessing!

I did internal on the 10 and got it , had to mark with the new "moderate look ahead", no other option here.
Love the puzzle and the solve, finally saw the "sea horse" in the link.

I'd not trust looking up your genealogy to a site.... I tried looking up my crest on the internet, and got many many of the same image, but nothing near correct. the true one is specific. my pea-brain remembers "3 stars on a field of blue" as part of it. all there on the internet had no stars, and even no blue. all images were white and red. *sigh*

thanks all. it's funny that this one pops up again because this thanksgiving i was at my parent's house and found our coat of arms...and, as suspected, it was nothing like the one i found online. on the bright side, more inspiration for other puzzles :P
