Puzzle Description:

During heavy spring rains, the crawfish get flushed out of their chimneys and seek higher ground across the street. I took a picture of one, and it went into defensive mode when I got close.

It was tricky to find something interesting on the street, because all the action is on the river behind the houses. From north to south is the river, a single row of houses, the street, then the swamp.

I love the thought of you going out on your street looking for a subject for your puzzle. :-) And I love your puzzle. Really well done!

People stop and stare, they don't bother me.
For there's nowhere else on Earth that I would rather be.

(Though we haven't had lilac trees in the heart of town since 2005, when we moved away from Kalamazoo.)

Fun! I know the costumer in the WMU theatre department, but we only went to Battle Creek for the zoo. Never even visited Cereal City.

Drat, there's a B/W only stipulation. I'll have to publish a new one.
