Great job, Travis. My former son-in-law, with whom I still have a good relationship, is a volunteer firefighter in a small town near Ottawa. These wonderful people get the same training, write the same tests, maintain the same physical fitness, and put themselves in the same danger as the big-city firefighters, but they do it for a sense of duty and community without the paycheque.#2: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on May 18, 2012

ellen, you have a good man there...our town is one square mile and if we have a big fire and need help they will call our neighboring towns for their assistance. thankfully it is very rare that we get multiple calls.#16: jewel crown (jewel) on Jul 1, 2012
Excellent image. Thanks Travis.#17: valerie o..travis (bigblue) on Jul 1, 2012
thank you jewel :)#18: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jul 20, 2013
So glad this puzzle came up. Really enjoyed the solve. My brother was a volunteer fireman for many years in a small town in Arizona. When he died (the big C got him) they put his casket on a fire truck and there was a long parade to the grave yard. Very moving.#19: valerie o..travis (bigblue) on Jul 25, 2013
sry to hear about your brother norma :(#20: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Jul 15, 2017
