Puzzle Description:

My neighbour Alex is. He's a retired electrician and an ordained minister. In my time of distress, during this past year,Alex tried to get me to talk to God and let him help me. I told Alex that i stopped praying when i became a teenager, cause i was just saying the words without feeling, and i felt like I was being hippocritical. Alex said,"It doesn't matter, ask and you shall receive". So i started talking to God again, and lo and behold, things are coming together.

Now,i'm not saying that all of a sudden i'm a religious man,but i have to admit talking to God gave me comfort and things are working out. Of course Alex said, you can't just ask and not do anything, you still have to take control and make the effort to get your life back in order.

You can talk to god and ask for guidance whether or not you are receiving things materially. He'll still go on responding to you. It may be a little harder to hear god's voice when you aren't receiving tangibles...that's when you learn what faith is. Most of us don't really begin to understand what faith actually is until we have a little life experience under our belts. Teenagers aren't usually too interested in anything much beyond the moment lol.

I was always brought up to believe that your not suppose to ask God for material things. I thought you asked God for strength and guidance, which is what i was doing. I asked for the strength to find a way to keep my family together, and for the guidance to lead me to an answer as to how i could take care of them,by giving them the necessities. Niki was not in a good place in her life when we met,and i changed all that for her. When i had to stop working because of my illness,i felt like i had failed her and the kids. I feel that God sent me to Niki,or should i say sent Niki to me,because Niki was always a believer, and through our trials Niki always believed in me. Niki would stand by my side,no matter what happened. God sent her to me,so that i could finally know what true love is.:)

Cool puzzle and thoughtful description. You don't have to be religious to be spiritual. I'm glad your prayers are being answered in such a spectacular way.

I was talking about myself, Aldege, commenting on my experience with the force beyond all knowledge. When I was a teenager I didn't understand enough about the world or myself to know what adult faith entailed. I've always asked for all kinds of material things as well as guidance, understanding etc. for myself and for others. Then I get to figure out the answer whether it's clear and direct, or complex and shadowed. Lol...faith for me consists of continued diligent looking, despite knowing that there are some answers beyond my ken.

I've never asked for material things, cause i was brought up to think that was wrong, and i guess i was confused thinking that being able to look after my family is a material thing. I'm just glad i talked to my neighbour Alex. He also said,God would not respond right away, and that an answer or guidance would not come until almost the point of desperation. He was right about that.:)
