Puzzle Description:

A red back spider.

Very nice as it was not symmetrical. Do you think it is related to the black widow spider we have in New Mexico? Is the red back poisonous? Does the female devour her mate? Thanks in advance for answering! Great pic- thanks.

Such a neat puzzle. I like the idea of taking a front view of the spider instead of a top view.

Yes, yes and yes Minnie, you are an astute woman. The redback spider is a black widow, the black widows have their red part on their underside while the redbacks have theirs on top, hence the name, some widows are just black all over. The redback venom can be deadly, especially to the very young or old. The female does have her boyfriend over for dinner. He is a lot smaller than her and is brown with red and white markings. I have always got a few out in my garden, nobody has ever been bitten in my family, yet, and I hope we never do :)

Very cute; I agree that it is a cool perspective. They asymmetry makes her look likes she's walking toward you.

I have arachnophobia really bad..
good job - gave me the willies.

Same for me, Naneki - I have trouble reading pages of National Geographic if they have a picture of a spider on them. Nice puzzle - but I can't decide if she looks friendly or menacing! Thanks.

Awesome spider. I enjoyed the solve very much. And the resulting picture.

Oh, he's a bad dude all right! Creepy, crawly, and HUNGRY!

She's a bad lady, Bill. ;) (only the female has the red spot)

I liked how once an arm was started, the next pixels would flow from there. It made the puzzle feel especially satisfying to solve. Also the asymmetry was neat!

Ah. Thanks for the correction, Kristen. Yeah, she bad!
