Puzzle Description:

This is what Niki and I saw this morning, after dropping the kids off to school. A flock of wild turkeys, had taken over someones backyard. We watched them trot across the driveway, and into their yard. Two of them, were displaying their magnificent plumage. A man was walking his dog,and a battle nearly ensued.

#3: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Apr 11, 2012 [SPOILER]
Cool story! I thought it was going to be a pretty shell, and then it looked like a tabby cat, curled up for a nap. :)

Thx Kristen,i thought it looked like a catcher's mitt,lol.:)
#5: Tom King (sgusa) on Apr 11, 2012 [SPOILER]
I thought it was a fully engorged bedbug... The national pet of Aldegia.
#6: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Apr 12, 2012
Very funny Tom,but the national pet of Aldègia are those giant ducks you see on the golf links of Beardhairs.:)

Based on the title and the state of my lawn, I thought it was going to be a dandelion.
#8: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Apr 16, 2012
That would be fitting for the title Amy. My lawn is covered with dandelions. Were not allowed to use chemicals for weeds here in Canada, only natural products. Is it the same where you are?:)

Did they look like the turkey in 13242, or were they slightly more dignified?
#10: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Apr 20, 2012 [SPOILER]
Yeah a bit more dignified Kristen, but yours are cute. Niki managed to get pictures of them on her phone, but they're not real clear. We keep going up there with our good camera, but we haven't seen them again. We'll keep trying, and try to put what we get on facebook.:)

when you go with a good camera, take a shotgun...yummy.

This had some very tricky line logic.

David, shotguns can be good eating, but you need a pressure cooker to get the most out of them.

We often have turkey in the backyard. And deer. And bear (at night - they leave their scat behind ... and a trail of garbage from unsecured cans).

We have squirrels and chipmunks out there as well (and the occasional chipmunk and flying squirrel inside the house, being chased by our cats.)

Oh, and we have had a pair of bald eagles hanging around our end of the street lately. They do not have a very lordly voice. More like a nauseated seagull.

This was more challenging than I expected. Nice story. Hard to see image. Probably should have been a little larger.
